Bulldogs prepare for Union-Endicott as Nottingham heros

It's been over 30 years since the Nottingham Bulldogs football team has felt the way they have this week, celebrating a Section III Championship. The Bulldogs are getting ready for Union-Endicott in State Regionals after winning the Section III title by beating Jamesville-Dewitt 14-7. The players admit they may have extended their typical 24 hours of celebration they allow themselves after a victory, as the school and community soak in what is only the second Sectional title in program history.

he atmosphere is crazy,

" says Nottingham senior wide receiver Jaquan Adams,

in school and around the whole town. You go around and everybody thanking us and they got billboards saying about our school and everything. I think its good. We on top now"

And even as Head Coach Nick Patterson reminds himself that the ultimate goal has always been to win a State Title this season, he admits that what's gone on in and around Nottingham High School this week has been pretty special.

Its been exciting around the community

," says Patterson,

coming to Nottingham and seeing the teachers, administrators and the student body showing so much love to the guys for something that hasn't been done in 32 years and being the second to do it, its just been great."

Nottingham takes on Union-Endicott this Friday starting at 8 PM at ES-M High School.
