Cazenovia survives CBA/conditions, F-M outlasts Auburn on Tuesday night

Cazenovia celebrates their 12-10 win over CBA on a rainy Tuesday night.

The Cazenovia Laker lacrosse team survived a late CBA rally to stay undefeated, winning 12-10 on a cold, windy and rainy night at Googin Field in Fenner. The Lakers led 8-5 after the first half, but as the weather conditions deteriorating, the Brothers stormed back with five goals in the third quarter tying the game 10-10 going into the fourth. But, the Caz defense held firm, keeping CBA scoreless in the final period, with two Laker goals the difference.

Another thriller in the rain took place down the road in Manlius, as the Hornets outlasted the Auburn Maroons 10-9. After the two teams went back and forth for the first few minutes, F-M scored the final two goals of the first quarter, leading 5-3 after one, and 6-5 after the first half. Four goals for the Hornets in the third were too much for the Maroons to come back from, the final scoring ending up 10-9. Three different Hornet athletes had hat tricks: John Cote, Casey Greene and Jack Wilson, while Maroon Sean Lattimore had a hat trick of his own in the losing effort.

The Corcoran Cougars scored 13 goals in the first quarter against Syracuse East, and went on to win 21-3. Sean Eccles had seven goals and five assists in the win for the Cougars.
