Christian Brothers Academy ready for Orchard Park in State semifinal

The last time Christian Brothers Academy won the New York State football title Greg Paulus was their quarterback and Ray Rice played for the opponent. It may seem like just yesterday to some , but for the Brothers football program it's been too long. The team will look to advance to their first State title game since 2005 with a win over Orchard Park on Saturday, our Toyota High School Game of the Week.

s a chance to play against the defending state champion

," says CBA head coach Joe Casamento,

They're a great program, we watched three films they look like a small college this year. So its great, the better your opponent is the greater the measurement is for us to see how good we can really be. So we're excited to go play a program like Orchard Par, the defending state champions." Casamento

he two teams in Saturday's semifinal have combined to win three State titles since the year 2000. Both teams have potent offenses who can put up big totals, and CBA senior linebacker Joey Pascarella is ready to throw his weight around and make his usual impact on defense.

"Its a tradition for us and everyone else

," says Pascarella,

The guys in the past always talk to me. They always text me every week saying good luck this week, I hope you get it done, and get it done for the past teams and everything else. So the opportunity for myself is a big one.

Kick off on Saturday is 6 pm in Rochester. We'll have it covered on CW-6 at 10 PM, and NBC-3 and CBS-5 at 11 PM.
