It's fair to say DaJuan Coleman is large and in charge.
He stands 6 foot 8, 280 pounds and won a state championship last year with the Jamesville-DeWitt Red Rams, but perhaps the most impressive thing about DaJuan is that he's only a sophomore in high school.
Coleman's presence on the court has indeed been big this year for the Red Rams. After being named a first team All-CNY player last year, DaJuan has led J-D to a perfect 22-0 record and a birth in the state semi-finals this weekend in Glens Falls.
As good as DaJuan is this year, he knows he still has a lot to learn. Coleman says, "I just want to keep getting better, I don't want to stay like this. Keep moving, keep getting better."
Since he's only a sophomore, his teammates wonder how good he'll be when he's a senior. Senior Guard Lamar Kearse says, "He's already one of the best players in the state now. I can't picture how he will be two years from now."
Congratulations to this week's Dunkin' Donuts CNY Central Athlete, DaJuan Coleman!
