The LaFayette boys basketball team is on a roll, picking up two key victories over the past week and this week's CNY Central Athletes are a big reason why.
Jamus Mulholland and Nabil Akl are two of the senior pillars that have helped the Lancers even out their record at 6-6 and heating up just at the right time for the upcoming Section III playoffs. Mulholland, Head Coach Jerry Kelly says, has been a consistent force all year long. Just like his older brother and LaFayette alum Keegan, Jamus is helping to pace the Lancers as a senior.
Nabil, has been a hard worker all year long. He's all set and ready to go play Division I lacrosse at Drexel but rather than taking it easy in preparation for the spring lacrosse season, Akl has given it his all every day at practice. His hard work, especially down low with Jamus has paid dividends for LaFayette hoops.
So, as the Lancers gear up for the sectional playoffs, they'll be looking at Mulholland and Akl to provide leadership on and off the floor. Hopefully that can carry the Lancers, a school with plenty of tradition, to another Section III championship.
Congratulations to Nabil Akl and Jamus Mulholland, this week's CNY Central Athletes.
