ES-M Spartans ready to repeat as Class A Section III champions

The East Syracuse Minoa Spartans capped off a perfect regular season with a Section III Class A Championship in convcincing fashion over perennial power Whitesboro. Many in Spartan Nation wondered, how could you top that?

The answer, is with another championship.

And that's how ES-M is approaching the upcoming season, ready to prove the team can in fact win two straight championships. Will it be easy? Of course not, especially with that bullseye on the Spartans' back, not to mention Nottingham dropping down to Class A. However, this ES-M team has a one track mind of proving they can win back to back championships.

The Spartans have the talent to do so returning a solid core of playmakers including standout Jeffrey McDuffie who can change the face of any game in one play.

ES-M opens the season as part of the kickoff classic in the Carrier Dome against Indian River. That's a 7 p.m. start on Friday, August 31. The following week the Spartans face a very difficult home test against Nottingham.
