F-M Softball Little-League looks to bring home state crown

F-M 8-10 year old softball players head to Dunkirk, NY to play for a New York State title

Call it a summer vacation for the ages.

The Fayetteville-Manlius All Stars (8 year olds to 10 year olds) are the Section 1 East Champions.

They beat Oneida in the championship 7-6. Earlier this week they won the district championships. Next they will move on to the state championship playoffs.

LaLa Sharples, shortstop for the FM All Stars says she didn’t expect the team to get as far as they have but is very excited for the championship playoffs.

Fellow 10-year old Bella Diana says that she can’t wait to tell her friends in school about how far the Hornets have made it this summer.

The girls have been practicing almost every day this week but have had some days off due to weather. On Friday, they dodged raindrops to get in some field work to stay sharp for states.

The Hornets head to Western New York for the first game on Wednesday, the state championship playoffs will be held at Dunkirk which is south of Buffalo.
