Fayetteville-Manlius, Skaneateles advance to Girls Lacrosse State Championship Games

The Skaneateles girls lacrosse team took down Palmyra-Macedon to advance to the Class D State Championship Game on Saturday.

Two of the three Section III girls lacrosse teams remaining in the New York State Tournament advanced to the Championship Game on Saturday from SUNY Cortland.

Fayetteville-Manlius took down Canandaigua Academy in the Class B Semifinals, 17-11. The Hornets will now take on Garden City for the Class B Championship on Saturday at 9 a.m.

In Class D, Skaneateles handled Palmyra-Macedon, 10-7, advancing to the Championship Game. The Lakers will meet Bronxville for the Class D Championship on Saturday at 2 p.m.

In the final game of the day, defending Class A State Champion, Christian Brothers Academy, met Pittsford in the Class A Semifinals.

However, the Brothers were unable to maintain a 3-1 lead early on, falling to the Panthers, 9-7.
