High School Hoops Roundup- Ludden, F-M prove worthy of top poll spots

John Schurman of F-M dunks it home against Nottingham

The first CNY High School Basketball poll of the season was released on Tuesday (I have a vote in the poll) and immediately the top ranked boys teams proved they belong where the pollsters slated them.

#1 Bishop Ludden made about a 5 minute drive down Grand Ave. to take on Fowler and was able to easily dispatch the Falcons 68-41. Dan Kaigler added to his already impressive 1,000+ scoring career with 18 points and Jack Rauch chipped in 16 in the victory.

The 2nd ranked team in the large school boys poll, Fayetteville-Manlius, had to work a bit at the end but was able to take out Nottingham 51-44. Binghamton-bound star John Schurman netted 27 points in the victory for the undefeated Hornets.

Henninger, which checks in at #5 in the poll, was able to run away from Liverpool 64-40.
