J-D boys lacrosse starts fast, takes down powerhouse West Genesee in Saturday tilt

Jamesville-DeWitt and West Genesee squared off on Saturday, with the Red Rams coming away with the impressive win.

In perhaps a matchup of the two most successful high school boys lacrosse programs in Central New York, the Red Rams were the ones celebrating victory at the end.

Jamesville-DeWitt, last year's Class B State Champion, entered Saturday's contest in Camillus unbeaten to start the year.

West Genesee, on the other hand, also showed up with zero blemishes in the loss column. However, that was going to change for one team.

Ryan Archer (9 points) and Griffin Cook (4 points) led the way for the Red Rams in the first half, helping J-D storm out to the 4-1 lead.

The Wildcats trailed 11-4 heading into the fourth quarter, making it an uphill climb in order to get back into the game.

With the 13-7 win, Jamesville-DeWitt improved to 3-0, while West Genesee fell to 2-1.
