J-D topples Homer, C-NS takes down F-M in Section III boys lacrosse on Thursday

Homer and Jamesville-DeWitt met in a Class C showdown on Thursday night, with the Red Rams proving too much for the Trojans.

Section III high school lacrosse continued on Thursday night, as several key matchups played out across the area.

In DeWitt, the Red Rams of Jamesville-DeWitt hosted previously unbeaten Homer. After a tied game at the half, 7-7, the Red Rams switched gears and held the Trojans to only a single goal in the second half.

J-D came away with the win, 12-8.

In Manlius, it was the Cicero-North Syracuse Northstars coming away with the victory in yet another close game.

C-NS held the 5-4 lead over Fayetteville-Manlius at halftime, and continued to hold the Hornets at bay throughout the entirety of the contest.

With the 10-8 win, the Northstars became eligible for the Sectional Playoffs.

"That's been our goal all year -- was to get into sectionals," C-NS head coach Bill Aldrich said. "And we got in tonight. We've been working hard and we're going to continue to work hard, and whatever we get is gravy."
