Jamesville-DeWitt, Fulton boys soccer raise more than $5,500 for Coaches Vs. Cancer
The Jamesville-DeWitt and Fulton boys soccer teams get it.
Both teams understand it's more than just the sport. It's more than the competitiveness that follows. It's more than wins and losses.
It's about how you impact other people's lives.
On Saturday night, the two teams met in DeWitt, where Fulton earned the 2-0 win.
However, simply put, both teams were victorious due to their incredible generosity.
Approximately $5,545 was raised for Coaches Versus Cancer -- a dollar amount that has J-D head JV boys soccer coach Paul Krause overjoyed.
"The kids did a fantastic job selling the t-shirts," Krause said with conviction. "They also went out and got sponsorship's for us. We had 28 sponsorship's that donated almost $4,000. So, the kids really did a good job with the whole thing.
And the goal for next year?
"Try to beat it again," he responded with a smile. "We'll shoot for $6,000 next year and maybe break 500 shirts."
Saturday night's event was the eighth consecutive year Jamesville-DeWitt has raised money for Coaches Versus Cancer.
