LaFayette Basketball, Westhill Girls stay undefeated in high school hoops
It may be early, but two programs with a plethora of tradition are starting things on the right foot.
LaFayette Boys beat rival Onondaga 74-46 on Monday night, improving Head Coach Jerry Kelly's team to a 3-0 mark on the season.
The Lancers outscored the Tigers by 20 in the second half behind a double-double of 11 points, 13 rebounds from Kyle Tracy and 15 points from Reid Jackowski.
Dylan Lyons led all scorers with 18 points.
LaFayette has the pieces in place this season, and a win over a neighborhood rival only builds their confidence.
In girls basketball, Westhill rolled past Cazenovia 61-29 on its home floor. Mackenzie Martin was unstoppable at times with 18 points and plenty of memorable moves.
Coach Sue Ludwig's squad is just 2-0 to start the season, but undoubtedly a perennial power in girls basketball.
