Nottingham looking to use upset in Class A title game as springboard to 2013
The Nottingham Bulldogs surprised all of Central New York (except maybe themselves) when they beat undefeated Jamesville-Dewitt 14-7 in the Class A Sectional Title game in 2012.
This season, the Bulldogs want to use that upset to get another solid start to their 2013 season, as the replace some key athletes with young talent. Once again, Nottingham wants to use their athleticism and chemistry to breed success late into the postseason.
"Speed..speed," Laquele Riddick, a senior left tackle, says. "We're going to be conditioned and run a lot. We condition a lot, so we're going to be faster. It's going to be good."
The Bulldogs did lose a few games last season, so they know they need to work on some things to have an even better 2013.
"We'll take what we did last year and all we'll do it build upon it," Sterling Lowry, a senior quarterback, says. "We just work harder every day in practice, to do things that we didn't do last year in order to make us better this year and just keep doing what we're doing."
