After an exciting first Friday night of Section 3 high school football, the rest of Central New York finished up with games on Saturday and Sunday, several of which played in the Carrier Dome.
Maine-Endwell, who won the state title in Class B in 2012, met the defending Class A Section 3 champion Nottingham in the Carrier Dome on Saturday. Despite not having quarterback Sterling Lowery, who was hurt in a scrimmage last weekend, the Bulldogs kept the score within striking distance in the first half, trailing just 10-7. But Maine-Endwell picked it up out of the locker room, scoring 14 points in the third quarter en route to a 31-7 victory. The Bulldogs host Fulton on Friday night at 6:30.
On Sunday, Solvay and Marcellus battled for the "Silver Cup", which goes to the winner of the annual rivalry. It lived up to it's billing as well, with the teams going back and forth throughout. Junior Devlin White caught four touchdown passes for the Bearcats, but Mustangs quarterback Tom Keegan notched four touchdowns of his own to guide Marcellus to a 40-32 win.
