Scores, recaps from first high school friday night of 2013

Christian Brothers Academy was the last team from Section III left on the field in 2012. If Week One was any indication, they could be the last team off in 2013 too.

The Brothers raced to a 35-18 halftime lead over Section IV power Union-Endicott and never looked back en route to a 56-32 victory.

Future University at Buffalo quarterback J.R. Zazzara ran for two touchdowns, including a 95 yarder and tossed three more in the win. Ivy League bound DeShawn Salter also returned a kickoff 86 yards and scampered another 66 yards to complete his day. CBA hits the road next week to take on Utica-Proctor, who lost to Corcoran tonight, 34-6

Henninger visited Liverpool for their season opener, where defense was key for both squads, as the Black Knights went into halftime with just a 7-0 lead. A score that would be repeated in the second half, as Henninger used that defense to secure a 14-0 victory.

Romero Collier and Keisean Scott connected for the two touchdowns, in different ways. For the first touchdown in the first quarter, Scott hit Collier in the middle for a 22-yard completion. In the third quarter, Collier hit Scott for a 41-yard touchdown.

Corcoran scored 34 points against Utica Proctor, starting their season off well with a 34-6 victory. The Cougars jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the first half, coasting to their first win of the season. Senior quarterback Roy Bell passed for 193 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Nasheem Walker also pitched in two touchdowns of his own.
