      Section III basketball finals set for the Carrier Dome

      It was a busy weekend at OCC, with dozens of games taking place at both SRC Arena and Allyn Hall, as boys and girls Section 3 basketball teams punched their tickets to the sectional finals in the Carrier Dome

      After the boys B finals were set on Friday night, the action continued on Saturday.

      Class AA boys action featured one of the biggest upsets of the year, as C-NS took down the Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets 69-63. In the other semifinal. Henninger played Utica Proctor tough, but J'Von Evans was too much, scoring 22 points, giving Proctor the 67-57 victory. C-NS and Proctor play for the Class AA title on March 1st at 6:30 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

      In Class A boys action Bishop Ludden took care of Carthage in the semifinal, winning 62-48, while Jamesville-Dewitt did the same to Cortland, winning 72-54. J-D and Bishop Ludden will play for the Class A title on March 1st at 4:30 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

      In Class C, Fabius-Pompey outlasted Little Falls in the first semifinal, winning 60 to 50. Fabius will take on Waterville, who defeated West Canada Valley 65-56. Waterville and Fabius will play for the title on March 1st at 12:45 p.m. in the Carrier Dome

      In Class D, New York Mills defeated Poland 62-53, while Oriskany skated by McGraw 62-59. New York Mills and Oriskany will meet for the Class D title on March 1st at 11:00 a.m. in the Carrier Dome

      In girls action...

      C-NS beat Nottingham in another close game 52-42, while West Genesee also won by 10 over RFA 51-41 in Class AA. The North Stars and Wildcats will play for the Class AA title on February 28th at 8:45 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

      In Class A, Whitesboro beat Indian River by just one point, 46-45, and J-D did the exact opposite, pummeling Camden 65-35. Whitesboro and J-D meet for the Class A title on February 27th at 7:45 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

      The Anna Ross-led Westhill Warriors beat a scrappy A-P-W team 51-45 and will play Notre Dame, who pounded Sherburne-Earlville 85-50. The Warriors and Jugglers play for the Class B title on February 28th at 7 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

      In Class C, Little Falls outlasted Cooperstown, winning 58-50, while Fabius-Pompey won a low scoring game over Weedsport 38-33. Little Falls and Fabius-Pompey will play for the Class C title on February 28th at 5 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

      In Class D, Oriskany shut down top-seed Copenhagen 43-21 in the first semifinal, while Hamilton took down New York Mills 55-46 to advance to the final. Oriskany and Hamilton will play for the Class D final on February 27th at 6 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.
