      Section III lacrosse teams go undefeated in first round of state playoffs

      Section III lacrosse teams played Section IV teams in the first round of the state tournament on Saturday, and Section III won every single game, with several being blowouts.

      Class A Girls: The Baldwinsville Bees Girls Lacrosse team advanced to the Class A state semifinals with a 10-8 win over Corning??Painted Post of Section IV at West Genesee High School. Taylor Gebhardt led the Lady Bees with 5 goals and Nicole Burrows made 7 saves including several crucial stops down the stretch. Baldwinsville will now face Section I champion Suffern, who the Bees defeated early this season 7-6. The game will be played this Friday at 9:30 am at SUNY Cortland??s Red Field.

      Class B Girls: The Christian Brothers Academy Girls lacrosse team glided past Vestal in the Class B state quarterfinals Saturday with a 21-2 victory. The Lady Brothers had 12 different players tally goals, led by Marisa Romeo and Rachel Perla who both scored 4 goals. Alea Bonner made 6 saves for the Lady Brothers and Bella Corieri added 3 saves in the victory. CBA will now play John Jay- Cross River of Section I in the Class B state semifinals this Friday at SUNY Cortland. Game time is scheduled for noon.

      Class C Girls: The Skaneateles Lady Lakers advanced to the Class C state semifinals with a 21-3 win over Section X champion Messena on Saturday. The Lady Lakers had 11 different scorers with Molly Wood scoring five goals and Hannah Powers adding 3 goals and 3 assists. Skaneateles will now face Section IX champions Putnam Valley on Friday at SUNY Cortland. Game time is set for 2:30pm.

      Class A Boys: The West Genesee Boys Lacrosse advanced to the Class A state semifinals, sneaking by Ithaca 10-9 at Union-Endicott??s Ty Cobb Stadium Saturday. Ryan St. Croix led the Wildcats to victory with 3 goals and Matt Koziol had a solid night in goal with 9 saves. West Genesee will now face Penfield in the Class A state semifinal Wednesday at St. John Fisher College. Game time is scheduled for 8pm.

      Class B Boys: The Jamesville-Dewitt Boys Lacrosse team kept their postseason alive with a 16-7 victory over Vestal in the Class B state quarterfinals Saturday at Union-Endicott??s Ty Cobb Stadium. Griffin Feiner had another all-star performance for the Red Rams, scoring a game high 8 goals and tallying an assist. Joe Shapiro and Joe Morgan combined to make 20 saves combined in the victory. Jamesville-Dewitt will now go up against Hamburg on Wednesday at St. John Fisher College in the Class B State Semifinals. Game starts at 3:30pm.

      Class C Boys: Cazenovia Boys lacrosse continued their postseason run Saturday night with a 19-8 victory over Johnson City in the Class C state quarterfinals down in Union-Endicott. Connor Cannizzaro lit up the twine scoring 8 goals with 3 assists. Kyle Brown, Ryan Cook, and Henry Mann all added 3 goals each in the victory. Cazenovia will now face Penn Yan on Wednesday.
