Skaneateles, CBA girls lacrosse win Section III titles

CBA Girls lacrosse has been on a roll since their opening round win last week.

West Genesee, Skaneateles and CBA will represent Central New York against the rest of our state in the girls lacrosse playoffs.

Both the Lakers and Brothers made short work of their opponents on Tuesday to win the Section III Class C and B titles, respectively.

CBA got the action started in the Carrier Dome on Tuesday taking on the Watertown Cyclones.

While Watertown presented a stiff test, CBA breezed through it winning 17-10. It's CBA's fourth Section III crown in a row, as they continue to defend their 2013 Class B New York State Championship.

Rachel Vercillo paced the Brothers with four goals. Maddie Cook had 6 points.

The Brothers don't have much time to celebrate though, they're in a first round game for the state playoffs, taking on Massena from Section X Thursday at Liverpool.

Skaneateles immediately followed the Brothers, and performed just as well as their former Class C rivals.

The Lakers outran South Jefferson from the get-go winning 17-6 en route to the Class C crown.

Hannah Powers led the way for Skaneateles with 4 goals and 3 assists.

West Genesee, in the nightcap, took care of business against a talented Cicero-North Syracuse squad.

The Wildcats return as Class A champions after falling in the title game last season to Baldwinsville.
