It was an exciting night in high school girls basketball, as three schools won Section III Championships at the Carrier Dome.
The most exciting game was in Class B, where Utica Notre Dame has been crowned Section III champion, led by senior Emily Durr.
The Jugglers won their second straight sectional title 46-39 over the Westhill Warriors in the Carrier Dome Friday night.
Durr left the game late in the fourth quarter with a left leg cramp before making a heroic comeback bucket, giving her 23 points and 13 boards for the Jugglers.
Utica Notre Dame's Jaclyn Hajec added 14 points and six rebounds in the win, while Claire Sehring finished with six boards.
Westhill got 25 points from star player Anna Ross, who has been battling a serious leg injury, but it was not enough as the Warriors fall short.
Cicero- North Syracuse won the Class AA Sectional title tonight against West Genesee by a score of 44-26. Emilee Norris led the way for C-NS with 15 points. Samantha Tortora added 9 points in the victory. Melissa Fumano led the way for West Genesee with 8 points. West Genesee was able to keep the game close heading in to the half but C-NS outscored West Genesee 20-8 in the second half to secure the victory.
Little Falls Mounties win their second Sectional III Class C Championship in three years on the back of Genevieve Schoff's 30 points and 15 rebounds.
The Mounties, who are 22-0 on the year, started the game on a 17-2 run and never looked back as they defeated the Fabius-Pompey Falcons by the score of 59-38.
Up next for the Little Falls is the winner of Saturday's Section IV final between Lansing and Harpursville in a state regional final at Onondaga Community College.
