Three Westhill student-athletes make it official with Division I schools

Left to right- Samantha Toscano, Anna Ross, and Lindsay Lippert all sign their Division I letters of intent

SYRACUSE - Westhill seniors Anna Ross, Lindsey Lippert, and Samantha Toscano all signed their letters of intent today to play Division-I athletics.

Ross will be playing basketball at the University of Pennsylvania. Going into her senior season, she has recorded 1,157 career points and is coming off of Player of the Year league honors. She is considered to be one of the elite players in Section III and New York State.

Lippert is headed to Gardner-Webb University to play lacrosse next fall. Up to now, she has played on the defensive side but will be making more of a transition to midfield this season for the Warriors.

??Lindsey is a leader on our team and our young defenders rely on her to communicate with and guide them,?? said Westhill Girls Lacrosse Coach Tim Alberts. ??Lindsey is one of the strongest overall athletes I have ever had the pleasure of coaching and Gardner-Webb is lucky to have secured her. She will be an impact player for them right from the start.??

Lippert was a 2nd Team All-League Honorable Mention nominee during her junior season.

Toscano has signed with St. Bonaventure University for lacrosse to become a Bonnie this fall. Toscano has been on the Westhill varsity team since her sophomore year and, like Lippert, has played on the defensive side.

??Samantha is also a soccer player and a member of the indoor track team which assist her in coming up with turnovers and just make her fun to watch play,?? said Coach Alberts. ??She is an energized high school player and I know she will continue to flourish at the collegiate level.??

Toscano was an All-League Honorable Mention last year as she showed hustle on ground balls and caused turnovers in every game.

Congratulations to all three ladies on their signings and best of luck to them during their senior seasons.
