Christian Brothers Academy rallied from a seven point deficit at halftime to beat the Henninger Black Knights 33-20. CBA remains undefeated, while Henninger falls to 4-2 this season.
CBA actually started the scoring behind a Deshawn Salter 13 yard rush, but that didn't last long. Henninger's Romero Collier took over, first with a 13 yard touchdown pass to Tiquan Simplins followed by a 1 yard run to give the Black Knights the 33-20 halftime lead.
The second half was a different story, keyed by CBA quarterback J.R. Zazzara. He got the Brothers deep into Henninger territory with first down run that finished with a hurdle over a defender, which led to a three yard run by the quarterback.
His teammate Kane Alletzhause came up big on the defensive side of the ball, recording three interceptions on the day. His first led to a 53-yard Zazzara touchdown run, giving the Brothers the lead for good.
Collier lead his team down the field and scored another touchdown in the fourth quarter, but a Deshawn Salter 68 yard run was too much to overcome, resulting in the 33-20 CBA victory.
