Upsets, big performances the story as Section 3 football finals are locked in

Henninger celebrates its upset win over F-M on Saturday

In Class AA, the Henninger Black Knights will face Christian Brothers Academy in the Carrier Dome for a sectional title and spot in the State playoffs representing Section III. Kickoff is slated for November 9th at 3 p.m.

CBA got its sectional birth with a 61-28 victory over the Liverpool Warriors this afternoon in Camillus. J.R. Zazzara led the Brothers offensive attack with 4 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns. Aaron Donaldson caught two of Zazzaraâ??s touchdown passes in the CBA win.

Across town in Liverpool, the Henninger Black Knights pulled off a major upset over the top seeded Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets with a 44-14 win. Romero Collier had four touchdowns for the Black Knights, one rushing and three through the air. Keisean Scott caught all three of Collierâ??s touchdown passes in the win.

In Class B, Oneida upset top-seed Homer 31-9 and 2-seed Cazenovia dominated Marcellus 63-18. Oneida and Cazenovia will meet in the Class B Final on November 10th at 3 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

In Class C, coming off their upset win over Syracuse ITC in the quarterfinals, 8-seed Notre Dame fell short against 5-seed General Brown 35-33. In the other half of the bracket, 3-seed Watertown IHC skated by 7-seed Thousand Islands 13-12. General Brown and Watertown IHC meet in the Class C Final on November 10th at noon in the Carrier Dome.

The Class A final will feature top-seed Indian River and 3-seed Carthage, who will battle on November 9th at 6 p.m. in the Carrier Dome.

The Class D final between 5-seed Sandy Creek and 3-seed Herkimer is on Saturday at noon in the Carrier Dome.
