About 130 girls club lacrosse teams from across New York State and locations on the East Coast took part in the 20th Star Spangled Tournament at Baldwinsville High School this weekend.
About 2200 athletes ranging from 3rd grade to the college level played games on eight different fields on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Vendors were onhand with lacrosse gear, as various Baldwinsville teams pitched in to help raise money for their programs. In all, about 300 volunteers helped coordinate parking, referees and the games themselves.
It's also an opportunity for athletes to get exposure, as college coaches from across the country were scouting talent at all levels, as they were able to view multiple games at once in one location.
The games will continue on Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
