West Genesee girls earn revenge on F-M, Liverpool boys upend Baldwinsville on Tuesday

West Genesee senior Mackenzie Baker, an SU commit, tallied a team-high 7 points in Tuesday's 9-4 win over F-M.

The West Genesee girls lacrosse team met Fayetteville-Manlius in a matchup of perennial powers on Tuesday night.

The Wildcats fell to the Hornets in the first showdown, 16-13. This time around, West Genesee was not going to let it happen again.

After jumping out to an 8-1 lead, the Wildcats never looked back. West Genesee senior attacker Mackenzie Brown, an SU women's lacrosse commit, recorded a team-high 7 points in the 9-4 win.

"We played them previously already, and we lost 16-13," Baker said afterward. "It was not our best game, but coming into this we knew they were going to be really good. We worked on our draws and made the improvements we had to make. It's just a huge confidence booster. I mean, we already lost to them once -- so now coming back from this we've got big games coming up. So, hopefully this is a good mindset for us and take it the rest of the way."

In Section III boys lacrosse, Liverpool paid a visit to Baldwinsville in a battle between a pair of solid programs in Central New York.

The Warriors took the early 5-3 advantage and never looked back.

In the end, Liverpool earned the 15-13 lead on Baldwinsville's Senior Night.
