Westhill Boys Basketball receives State Championship rings during annual 'Warrior Madness'
The Westhill boys basketball team was among New York State's best in 2016-17, not only winning the Class B State Championship, but also advancing to the Federation Title Game.
On Saturday night, the Warriors received the hardware to prove it.
During the school's second annual "Warrior Madness" event, both the Westhill boys and girls basketball teams scrimmaged in front of fans with music playing throughout, including individual player introductions.
Bishop Ludden hosts a similar event, called "Knight Madness", which occurred last week.
"It definitely creates a lot of hype within the community," Westhill senior guard Sean Dadey said. "We've got tons of people, tons of parents and tons of students out here. It gets us excited for the season and knowing we have tons of backing from our community."
The Westhill boys begin the season Wednesday, November 29 when they host A-P-W, while the girls get underway on Thursday, November 30 on the road at Mexico.
