What a game! B'ville wins Class AA soccer championship

B'ville's Alex Bono celebrates after he scores the game winning goal in penalty kicks.

It was a championship contest between two teams, so talented, that regulation time and two overtime sessions weren't enough to settle this one.

Finally though, in penalty kicks, the #4 team in New York the Baldwinsville Bees defeated the #1 team in the state the Fayetteville-Manlius Hornets to capture the Class AA Section III championship.

The goalies in this one, Alex Bono of B'ville and Kenny Chapman played brilliantly in this one. Both held the opposition in check in shutout fashion until the penalty kicks, and both actually kicked in goals during the penalty kick session. Bono's goal in PK's actually was the clinching shot for the Bees as they won 4-3 in penalty kicks.

The win marks the 5th time in a row that Baldwinsville has captured the Section III Class AA boys soccer championship, and the 4th time in a row the Bees have knocked off F-M in the title game.
