No. 10 Syracuse lacrosse completes comeback, drops No. 9 Virginia in instant classic

The No. 10 Syracuse men's lacrosse team pulled off yet another unlikely victory on Sunday, this time, over No. 9 Virginia.

The Orange trailed 8-4 at halftime, and even held a 10-5 deficit in the third quarter. However, that's when SU began to chip away.

SU's Nate Solomon and Matt Lane each tallied three goals apiece, but it was Sergio Salcido's goal with 15 seconds remaining that gave the Orange its first lead of the game.

On the ensuing faceoff, senior midfielder Ben Williams won the faceoff and drowned out the clock to ensure the 14-13 win.

Coming off last week's gut-wrenching loss to Army, the Orange were in need of a bounce back effort. Sunday's win puts Syracuse at 3-1 overall, as it prepares to next visit St. John's on Saturday, March 11 at 1 p.m. from Queens, NY.
