SU quarterback Eric Dungey named to Maxwell Award Watch List

Syracuse quarterback Eric Dungey was recognized on the Maxwell Award Watch List ahead of the 2017 season.

Syracuse quarterback continues to draw high praise ahead of his junior season with the Orange.

Dungey was recognized as a member of the Maxwell Award Watch List on Monday, an award annually given to College Football's top player each year.

Experts say the Orange have the most difficult schedule in 2017, with road games against LSU, Miami (FL), Florida State and Louisville. Additionally, a home game against defending National Champion Clemson, make it among the toughest in the nation.

Dungey's experience will be needed in 2017. If the Orange are to eclipse the 6-win mark and receive an invite to a bowl game, the junior quarterback will be needed to lead the way.

Former Orange quarterback Don McPherson was the winner of the 1987 Maxwell Award.
