Syracuse Football signs 15 during early National Signing Day period
The Syracuse University football program capped off its early period of National Signing Day on Wednesday, announcing the signatures of 15 future Orange football players.
Orange head coach Dino Babers addressed the media, detailing his excitement with the early signing period, a new rule implemented by the NCAA this year.
"This is our first time out, obviously, this is our first go-around with it," Babers said. "I think it's good for an institution like Syracuse. I think we've got ahold of some individuals that we feel are excellent football players, and I think as the recruiting class moves to the second part of it in February, I think we would've had a lot of difficulty holding on to these young men. But now they're all signed, sealed and delivered -- just like the record. They get an opportunity, some of them, even enroll here in January, on the 15th and start school, which is a huge advantage. So, I think for Syracuse University, the early signing day is favorable.
