Top-40 PG recruit Jalen Carey commits to Syracuse Basketball
Help is on the way for the Syracuse University men's basketball program.
Jalen Carey, a nationally-ranked recruit in ESPN's 100, committed to the Orange on Wednesday evening with a video posted on Twitter.
The Montclair, New Jersey native chose Syracuse over Connecticut.
Mike McAllister of CuseNation.com discussed what kind of player the Orange are getting in Jalen Carey.
"He's quick, he's extremely athletic, he's great in transition and has excellent floor vision. But the thing that really attracted Syracuse to him and why they have targeted him and recruited him as hard as they have, is he is a big-time scorer from the point guard position. He is someone who you can roll the ball onto the floor and say, 'Go get us 25 points tonight, we need it', and he can do that for you. He pretty much did that for his AAU squad throughout the EYBL and got them to the Peach Jam, even though he was far and away the only major prospect on that team. So this is a big-time gift for Syracuse. He fits what what they need perfectly."
Carey joins Darius Bazley and Buddy Boeheim in Syracuse's 2018 recruiting class.
