Accident cleared, traffic back to normal heading to NYS Fair
TOWN OF GEDDES, N.Y. -- An accident involving a tractor trailer and a car caused delays for fair-goers this afternoon.
Officials say the accident happened on State Route 695 at 2:35 p.m., forcing the right lane of Interstate 690 westbound at Exit 6 to shut down. That closure backed-up traffic heading towards the New York State Fairgrounds.
40 minutes later at 3:15 p.m. the accident was cleared, according to the state Department of Transportation. State Police tell us there were minor injuries to those involved in the crash.
The driver of the car is expected to be ticketed, according to troopers.
