Hollywood agent for child stars fired amid new sex scandal
A top Hollywood agent has been fired amid decade-old allegations he sexually assaulted a former child star.
Tyler Grasham was booted from his agency APA on Friday, hours after company bosses announced he had been placed on a leave of absence following accusations he acted inappropriately with former actor Blaise Godbe Lipman when he was a teenager. Lipman is now 28 and a film producer.
Grasham, who has many child clients, is currently under investigation, according to Deadline.
Two young stars, Stranger Things' Finn Wolfhard and Descendants actor Cameron Boyce, fired the agent shortly after Lipman came forward with his accusations. Wolfhard has also left APA amid the scandal.
A statement from an agency spokesman reads: "APA takes these allegations extremely seriously and is investigating this matter."
Meanwhile, Nickelodeon bosses have fired the creator of animated show The Loud House after he was accused of sexual harassment.
"Chris Savino is no longer working with Nickelodeon," a network spokesperson said in a statement. "We take allegations of misconduct very seriously, and we are committed to fostering a safe and professional workplace environment that is free of harassment or other kinds of inappropriate conduct."
Savino was initially suspended after multiple women came forward with allegations of sexual harassment, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The news is another black eye for Hollywood following the Harvey Weinstein sex scandal - the movie mogul was forced to resign from the board of The Weinstein Company earlier this month following the publication of damning exposes about his bad behavior, sexual harassment and alleged assault on young actresses.
The scandal has led to the social media campaign #MeToo which encourages women to share their stories of harassment.
Cyma Zarghami, President of the Nickelodeon Group, has released a memo to staff members following Savino's firing, encouraging them to speak out if they experience or see mistreatment.
