14-year-old boy in critical condition after being shot on Syracuse's southwest side

Syracuse Police are investigating the shooting of a 14-year-old boy on the city's southwest side.

According to police, officers responded to the 400 block of Sterling Avenue around 12:47 a.m. Saturday in regards to a shooting call.

When officers arrived, they found a 14-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper part of his body. He was transported to Upstate University Hospital by AMR ambulance personnel for treatment.

His is currently listed in critical condition.

There is no suspect information available.

An investigation into the incident is continuing.
