A fire at a two-story apartment house on Cayuga Street in Fulton on Sunday morning displaced 22 residents, according to the Fulton Fire Department.

Firefighters responded to the scene at 10:13 a.m. to find heavy smoke coming from the home.

When they arrived, they were told that someone was trapped inside. The firefighters and police officers on-scene were able to confirm that a 10-year-old resident had been assisted out of a side window. The victim was evaluated at the scene and wasn't transported by ambulance.

Firefighters performed two searches to confirm that there were no other occupants inside, and advanced two hand lines to knock down the fire.

Two buses from the Golden Sun Bus Company provided temporary shelter from the cold weather to displaced residents.
