SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Four Syracuse residents were arrested after they allegedly tried to flee the scene of a shooting on Grace street over the weekend.
Police were responding to reports of shots fired on the 100 block of Grace Street at 2 a.m. on Sunday when they heard more gunshots near Delaware Street and two vehicles flee the scene, according to a press release from the Syracuse Police Department.
The vehicles were pulled over without incident.
Officers say they found a loaded 9mm semi-automatic handgun in one of the vehicles. Investigators also say the casings found on the 100 block of Grace Street in a car hit by gunfire were also 9mm.
The following Syracuse residents were arrested in connection to the incident:
23-year-old John Johnson
23-year-old Jasmine Diaz
25-year-old Hipolito Ayala
21-year-old Luis Cirino
All four people were charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree and lodged at the Onondaga County Justice Center.
