Culture Festival aims to show Baldwinsville's diversity

Students with roots and ties all over the world attend Baldwinsville's High School. Now a Baker High School student is organizing a Culture Festival to share their food, music and traditions.

A student at Baker High School who's been involved in city-suburrban inter-school dialogues is organizing an event aimed at sharing the many cultures in the Baldwinsville community.

Aidan Priest, who's a junior, has been part of Community Dialogues between Baker and Syracuse's Corcoran High School. Corcorand does a cultural festival, and Priest thought it would be a good idea for his school to do one, too, though he was told seval times that Baldwinsville did not have much diversity. So, he spent last summer researching and found 30 students from 'different' cultures, who will be represented at an event later this month.

Variety in food, clothing music and traditions will be highlighted, and its expected that not only the students, but their parents and extended families will also be involved.

The Baker Culture Festivalis is set for February 28th (Thursday) 5 - 8pm at the High School. Over 20 different cultures will be represented. The entire community is invited to the free event.
