Comfortably quiet for the last day of spring and the first day of summer

Good morning! Here is what you need to know before you go.

Expect bright sunshine early in the morning. From west to east sunshine will combine with clouds, with the thickest clouds occurring over the western Finger Lakes and the southern Finger Lakes. There is a chance for a sprinkle or minor showers over these areas that have the thickest cloud coverage.

Early morning temperatures are wide ranging. Most spots should start between 50 and 55 at sunrise. However, the coolest countryside will be in the 40s early. Temperatures should rise into the upper 60s to near 70 by 12 PM.

During the afternoon, expect variable cloud coverage with differing amounts of sunshine. The brightest skies and most filtered sunshine will occur over northern and eastern areas, like the North Country and the Mohawk Valley. The thickest cloud coverage will occur over southern and western areas, like the Finger Lakes and southern tier. Inside the thickest cloud coverage, once again, I cannot rule out some passing minor sprinkles or scattered light showers.

Temperatures should rise into the lower to middle 70s for many areas and could approach the upper 70s for areas that get enough sunshine.

I have attached a video forecast showing an hour-by-hour progression of today’s weather hour-by-hour and place-by-place across central New York.

The Jamesville Balloonfest is happening Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I have included another video forecast showing the hour-by-hour forecast for the Balloonfest, as well as your, the pollen count, the "Mow or No" forecast, and the “Dog Walking” forecast for today.
