The City of Syracuse announced that preparatory construction activities for a paving project along Teall and Columbus Avenues will start on Monday.

City officials said the preparations will be on Teall Avenue between the Interstate 690 project limits and Erie Boulevard East, and on Columbus Avenue between Erie Boulevard East and East Fayette Street.

Traffic will continue in both directions during the preparations, but lanes may shift or close at times to accommodate current work.

Officials say this phase of the project is expected to last several weeks.

The city will provide updates once the schedule has been set for the milling and paving.

This project was coordinated with the New York State Department of Transportation, according to city officials.
