UPDATE: The Onondaga County Sheriff's Office has revealed new information on this morning's fire that took the life of a person.
They say they responded to a house fire at 423/425 Brookfield Road in Mattydale. 2 of the 3 people in the home were able to escape the home and call 911. When firefighters from several different agencies arrived, they discovered and removed the remains of the victim who died in the home. Firefighters say they were able to subdue the fire in 30 minutes. Investigators are currently in the process of determining how the blaze started.

Onondaga County 911 says it broke out just after 7:00 this morning on Brookfield Road.
There is no word on the identity of the victim or what may have caused the fire.
