A Syracuse man is accused of vandalizing the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office Headquarters.

Deputies say a sheriff's office employee was sitting at her desk at about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday when a man approached her office window and began yelling obscenities. The man then broke a large glass window with a motorcycle helmet and took off, the sheriff's office said.

The suspect, identified as 56-year-old Willie McClendon, was quickly caught by deputies, according to the sheriff's office.

As of Wednesday afternoon McClendon was being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center to await arraignment, deputies said. He faces a charge of criminal mischief.
