Dog injured during evening house fire in Nedrow

Crews battled a large fire at house Saturday night in Nedrow.

According to the Nedrow Volunteer Fire Department's Facebook page, firefighters were dispatched to a report of a house fire in the area of Smith Avenue around 9:39 p.m. Saturday. The first arriving units encountered heavy fire throughout the structure, officials said.

No one was home at the time of the fire, but one dog was removed from the structure and transported to a local vet. The dog is expected to survive.

Multiple fire departments and agencies responded to the scene.
