Downtown Syracuse's shopping heyday comes alive, again
SYRACUSE N.Y. —
An exhibit opening Wednesday at the Onondaga Historical Association will take visitors back in time. For some, it will take them back to their earliest childhood memories.
“Strolling Down Salina Street: 1940-1980” is a walk-through exhibit at the OHA’s Montgomery Street headquarters. It features countless memories of the shopping bonanza that once was Salina Street.
Some of the artifacts in the exhibit came from the association’s recent request for items to be loaned or donated for display.
The exhibit may be up for more than a year, the association says. You can visit Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
