A criminal complaint alleges Childers helped Dean rent a car to drive from Texas to New York to kill Niles. The couple was shot to death outside their home in Sodus on Oct. 22.

Investigators have also charged Bron Bohlar, a police officer in Sunray, Texas, with conspiracy. Dean is the former chief of the Sunray Police Dept.

Assistant District Attorney Christine Callanan said both will be extradited to Wayne County within the next 90 days.

Childers is still being held on $100,000 bail and $200,000 bond.
