'Fiddler on the Roof' takes over Landmark Theater
SYRACUSE, N.Y. —
Downtown Syracuse will be bustling this week as 'Fiddler on the Roof' kicks off its nationwide tour. It will transform the Landmark Theater for the next 3 days.
The show takes place in Russia around 1917 before the Jews were kicked out. It tells the story of a family, showing love and courage during a troubling time.
The scenery and the costumes were made in New York State, and they hired all local technicians to bring this show to life. The show's producer says people are in for a real treat. "They are going to experience great music, joyful dancing, terrific acting," said producer Seth Wenig. "This play takes you on a roller coaster of emotions because it's about family and a family trying to hold together in very difficult times."
'Fiddler on the Roof' runs Wednesday, October 17 through Friday, October 19 at the Landmark Theater in downtown Syracuse. Tickets are available by calling the Landmark Box Office, Famous Artists at (315) 424-8210, Ticketmaster or online by clicking here.
