Firefighters contain Manlius house fire

Crews battle house fire in winter conditions

Fire crews put out a fire on Prestwick Drive in Manlius Sunday morning.

Several fire agencies responded to the scene around 11:30 a.m.

Manlius Fire Chief Brad Pinsky says they arrived and saw heavy smoke coming from the back corner of the home.

Pinsky says the 2nd floor was filled with smoke, and they found heavy fire in the bedroom. He says they were able to control it quickly.

The chief says the entire home would have likely burned to the ground had the homeowners not closed the bedroom door where the fire originated.
