Friday marked a big debut for the first Winter Fair at the Expo Center on the New York State Fairgrounds. The three day event aims to bring all the joys of the summer fair under one roof.

"I think it's better than I expected," said Center Square native Theresa Vuillemot. "There's a lot here. A lot of variety and it's a pretty good turnout too. Wish the weather was better but hey it's inside."

Fair-goers went by familiar sights and sounds of the summer. Including a Ferris wheel and slimmed down 'restaurant row'.

"I feel like I'm at the fair," said Mary Pat Ganley. "I got snacks and all the stuff I can normally get so I think it's great."

"Through the years that I've been here in Central New York you gotta go to the fair," said Winter Fair organizer and promoter Steve Becker. "So I think that's what we want to do. Why not do it in winter?"
