Five people held against their will in Cortland home invasion robbery

Two Cortland men and one teen are under arrest, but three other men are on the run. All are wanted for their roles in a home invasion robbery where several people were held against their will late Tuesday night.

Police say just before 10:30 p.m., five men and one teen showed up unannounced to 24 Water Street in Cortland. Two of the assailants - who were armed with weapons - kept the five people who were home at the time captive, as the others ransacked the home and rifled through belongings.

The group got away with cash, marijuana, a fire safe, a pellet pistol, and two cell phones.

They may face robbery, burglary, menacing, conspiracy and weapon charges.

So far, police have arrested three people believed to be involved: 20-year-old Nathaniel Wright, 24-year-old Robert Wade, and 16-year-old Bryshawn Lewis.

Investigators are looking for three others they want to talk to: 18-year-old Quadir Artiste, 24-year-old Bayshawn Barlow, and 20-year-old Shyquane Pittman.

If you can help track them down, or have any information that could help investigators piece together what happened, you're encouraged to call Cortland Police at (607) 753-3001.

Ask for Sgt. Patrick Sweeney (758-8309) or Lt. David Guerrera (758-8301).
