Foot and a half flood at Upstate University Hospital

Upstate University Hospital had to call the Syracuse Fire Department in, early this morning, to pump out flooding in the hospital West Wing.

The hospital has issued this statement:

At approximately 4 a.m. today (Jan. 21) a sump pump failed and about 18 inches of water was found in the mechanical room of the sub-basement in the West Wing area of Upstate University Hospital’s Downtown Campus. The sub-basement does not include any patient care areas; no patient care areas were flooded. The sub-basement has been cleared of all standing water
