Elsa the 'frozen' cat on I-81/690 adopted
SYRACUSE N.Y. —
The cat found frozen to an interstate highway in Syracuse last week is now headed to a new home.
The CNY SPCA, which has been caring for 'Elsa' confirms that she's been adopted. The cat is still at the Mattydale shelter, where she's doing well. She will not be released to her new home until after she's been spayed.
SPCA Humane Education Director Dee Schaefer says she's happy this case has a happy ending, and reminds all cat owners that letting their pets outside, unattended, is risky, no matter what the season.
